I chose animation because I've always been interested in 2-D animated short films. I would like to, eventually, make simple 2-D animations that tell impactful and powerful stories. I believed I would develop and learn new methods and skills in animation that I use to make 2-d animations like "Gravity" by Allin Liu. I had also believed that I could improve my drawing skills not only in graphic design but also in animation.
I also just enjoy animation in general. Whether its making it or even just observing how smoothly it flows or trying to understand what the animation is trying to tell. Animation is something that I just enjoy doing no matter how much time or effort it takes. Despite how infuriating it is at times I still enjoy it. I want to continue improving and developing the skills I have in animation now until I have the skills and confidence tell impactful stories using simple looking animation.
Write a summary of the article, identifying the three key points. A new software makes animation easier through the use of MoCurves. MoCurves allow multiple parts of a model to be accelerated and decelerated in real time. Discuss the author’s argument. The author has come to the conclusion that MoCurves will eventually replace key frames and become the standard for most animation studios. Due to the unique function of MoCurves, which can transform multiple motion cycles at once unlike key frames which, despite their accuracy, can only transform motion cycles separately. What information/evidence and sources does he/she use to support that argument? The author provides a video explaining how key frames work and how MoCurves are superior to them. They also provide a brief summary of a study performed with 5 students without any experience with animation software to prove the superiority of MoCurves over key frames. What are the article’s/author’s stre...
What did you do this Semester? Project one The first project I completed this Semester was the Vector portrait. The Vector portrait took over three weeks to complete. I had trouble following some of the tutorials presented and had to restart the process three times until I found a tutorial that I could both understand and do. I learned how to make curves using the pen tool and how to use layers and artboards in order to create a vector image. Project two The second project was a research assignment based on an important art movement or artist, mine was the Bauhaus movement. I first had to complete a research paper on the movement, then, using what I learned about the Bauhaus movement to create a presentation about the Bauhaus Movement. Then I had to create a presentation with significant information about the Bauhaus movement with slides that visually represented the art movement. Finally I had to create a Bauhaus art exhibit poster for the Nelson-Atkins Mus...
ISTP Personality Type In e9 we took multiple versions of the Myers-Briggs personality test. In all versions of the test that I had taken I was an ISTP. An ISTP is someone who is observant and has an understanding of mechanics. ISTP types are also good at responding to emergencies and are attentive to detail and responsive to the world around them. A famous person who shares my personality type is Stanley Kubrick, a filmmaker. Does it match? I don't really think the ISTP matches my personality. I'm not very observant of the world around me. While I am reserved I am also withdrawn. I'm also not adaptable or independent. Often I rely on other people. During emergencies I tend to panic rather than keep my cool and deal with it. I don't think my personality type explains why I am the way I am or why I gravitate toward certain activities over others. Does my personality type explain aspects of myself? My personality type does explain why I've preferred to work ...
