My Personality Type

Image
ISTP Personality Type In e9 we took multiple versions of the Myers-Briggs personality test. In all versions of the test that I had taken I was an ISTP. An ISTP is someone who is observant and has an understanding of mechanics. ISTP types are also good at responding to emergencies and are attentive to detail and responsive to the world around them. A famous person who shares my personality type is Stanley Kubrick, a filmmaker. Does it match? I don't really think the ISTP matches my personality. I'm not very observant of the world around me. While I am reserved I am also withdrawn. I'm also not adaptable or independent. Often I rely on other people. During emergencies I tend to panic rather than keep my cool and deal with it. I don't think my personality type explains why I am the way I am or why I gravitate toward certain activities over others. Does my personality type explain aspects of myself? My personality type does explain why I've preferred to work ...

ABC Sequence

The assignment was to create a video focusing on the sequence of a video. The project required multiple shots to make any jump cuts less noticeable. We began the project by making a storyboard. The storyboard took a few attempts because we had to add pictures and redraw the story board. Next we checked out the necessary equipment and began filming. Filming the video took many attempts because there were many teachers and other students constantly walking by during the video. We also had to improvise some of the shots taken due to complications. Complications such as the front doors of the school having an alarm system that goes off if they're propped open for too long. Finally after taking all the necessary shots my partner and I downloaded our videos and began the process of editing our videos. I learned that taking the same shot over and over from different angles can greatly improve a video. The removal of jump cuts can also improve a video by making the progression of a video...

6 Shot Video Project

Image
The six shot video assignment was a 30 second video that practiced using the axis line and the 6 basic shots of video; including extreme close up, close up,over the shoulder, middle, wide and extreme wide. Throughout the process I learned how how to use a tripod and how to edit videos in Adobe Premiere. I also learned that when recording a video to take as many shots as possible and retake shots if they can be improved on. Before the video was made my partner and I made two story boards for our videos. We weren't able to bring our ideas together because of a lack of understanding and communication. We spent the first day recording my video recording a few shots more than once because of a new addition to the video. The next day we spent the hour recording my partners video and editing our own videos. Next time a project like this is given I plan to focus on making sure I have the rule of thirds and the axis line in the video. I would also focus on taking more shots so I have mo...

6 basic Photo Angles

Image
Extreme Close Up    An Extreme close up is used to show detail in a person's expression  or the detail of an object. Close Up     A Close up is used to show the detail of a person's overall facial expression instead of focusing on a small portion of the face's expression. Over The Shoulder  An Over the Shoulder Shot is used typically during interviews to emphasize the person being interviewed. Middle  A Middle Shot is used to show the setting and the subject of the photo. Wide    A Wide Shot is used to focus on a specific part of a wide shot. Extreme Wide An Extreme Wide Shot is used to show the area where the photo is being taken.

Semester 1 Reflection

So far I have show the most strength and potential in graphic design. The area I am in the most desperate need of improvement is animation, specifically web and 3-D animation. I loved using photoshop to create the smiling bouncing ball animation. If I were to do anything differently I would stay after school more often and experiment with 2-D and 3-D animation. This semester I discovered I am extremely slow when it comes to big animation or graphic design projects. In the future I will need to stay after school or finish my projects faster. A goal for next semester would be to excel in video. Over the next few years I would like to improve overall in graphic Design, 2-D and 3-D animation.

House Blog

Image
The Process First we followed the instructions on Google Classroom. We selected a template and used push pull and the offset tool to create the basic outline of the house. After this my house began to have lines appearing across the roof. Any attempt to erase these outlines resulted in chunks of the roof and walls disappearing. Afterwards I had to restart and try again. By the time i finished the house most had already moved on from the animation of the house to the next project. New learning I've leaned how to use some of the tools in sketch up to create basic structures. I also know how to use the 3-D warehouse. I can also change the time and date to add shadows and fog to Sketch up. However I also learned that if a shape is not square Sketch up will no longer be cooperative or work properly.  Next time Next time I will choose the simplest of designs to mimic. If I need to start over I will reread the directions as many times as needed to avoid mistakes. Such as...

Web Design Final

Image
We started by watching several video tutorials with specific instructions. Each video becoming more complex as the website reached its completion. The web project overall took about a full week to complete.I used all the available class time but had to start over two or three times and, in order to finish the website I had to stay after school. Normally the most challenging part was correcting and adding in the code as well as making sure the code was correct.     Along the way I learned what makes a website function the way it does and a how Adobe dreamweaver works. I also learned one of possibly several programs that can be used to make a website. I didn't like how the website turned out. In the end it looked sloppy and plain. I wish we had more time to make the website look more creative. The creation of the website and the final product was easier and looked better than the house made in Sketchup.
